PRESS RELEASE No. 063/KFCP-DIR/PR/IX/22
Jakarta, September 17th, 2022 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk or Kalbe has donated a water tank truck to the Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI). It can storage 5.000 liters of clean water and will be used in any response situations in Indonesia.
“Today we are truly blessed with the Red Cross for its 77 years of service and its theme of “spreading kindness”, which is aligned with Kalbe’s commitment to “Together We Heal the Nation”, as well as the celebration of Kalbe’s 56th birthday,” as stated by the Director of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk, Mulialie, at the Red Cross Headquarters in South Jakarta.
“Along with the government, in this case the Red Cross, we are always present in spreading health to the nation. We have donated this unit of water truck for clean water to support the Red Cross in helping disaster victims who need clean water, as our effort for a healthier Indonesia.
Natural disaster can happen unexpectedly and, while it is essential, clean water is often hard to gain for fulfilling the needs to those victims. Since the water truck can provide a clean water access to locations impacted by natural disasters, the Red Cross expresses the gratitude to Kalbe for the donation of the water truck.
“The theme for this birthday occasion is to keep spreading kindness. We work for the society, and all their support to assist the Red Cross, whether from companies, the government, or even a helping hand of a businessman,” said Jusuf Kalla, Chairman of the General Manager of the Red Cross.
He stated that the Red Cross would remain to serve and work for the Indonesian people. Therefore, adequate preparations, trainings, and equipments would be essential to conduct the principals of humanity.
This is not the first collaboration between Kalbe and the Red Cross. Kalbe has provided many supports to the Red Cross, such as blood transfusion activities in more than 50 Kalbe Group branch offices all around Indonesia, where almost 10,000 blood bags were provided by the Red Cross for the Indonesian people.
According to Mulialie, “In the future, Kalbe has a commitment to support a sustainable initiative from the government and the global community in order to provide access to health services for a healthier Indonesia. We also want to provide developments, such as what is required for the Red Cross, therefore we will always support the Red Cross to createa a healthier community.”
