Kalbe is fully aware that in making important decisions, the Company needs to consider not only the impact of those decisions on its business performance but also on their consequences to the environment and the community.
To that end, Kalbe is committed to responsibly develop its business, among others, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. The Company is committed to positioning its CSR philosophy and objectives as an integral part of its business activities. Therefore, Kalbe’s commitment to help promote community welfare and environment protection is implied in both in its products and services, as well as the way the Company operates its business.
Kalbe’s CSR programs cover the following four key areas: community development; environmental stewardship; labor, occupational safety and health practices; and product responsibility.
Community Development Activities
Kalbe’s community development activities are managed by a dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility Unit at the head office, with direct reporting line to the Board of Directors. This Unit is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Kalbe Berbagi activities, an umbrella for the entire community development activities within the Company.
Kalbe Berbagi activities are categorized into the following 4 pillars:
- Kalbe Berbagi - Health, focusing on public health development activities , in line with the Company's main business activities as well as belief that access to healthcare is the right of every individual;
- Kalbe Berbagi - Education, focusing in education development initiatives, especially in the field of life science education;
- Kalbe Berbagi - Environment, to help communities build and maintain a sound and healthy environment that support improvements in the quality of life, and
- Kalbe Berbagi - Infrastructure, to help basic infrastructure development, particularly those related to improvements in health and education infrastructure.
