KALBE AND KOMPAS GRAMEDIA HELD THE SECOND-DOSE VACCINATION CENTER  FOR THE PEOPLE OF PEKANBARU

Pekanbaru, October 5, 2021. PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) and Kompas Gramedia in collaboration with the Pekanbaru Food and Drug Supervisory Center (POM) held the Vaccination Center for the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccines at the Pekanbaru POM Center. According to  Vaksin.kemkes.go.id data, a total of 94,223,690 people have received the first  COVID-19 vaccine . Whereas the second dose has been received by as many as 53,006,923 people throughout Indonesia. The number of Indonesians who have acquired the second vaccination is 25.45% of the total government target. The government's target in disbursement of the second vaccine for the people of Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.

 

Corporate Sustainability Manager of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk., Abi Nisaka, said that the implementation of this vaccination center is a manifestation of Kalbe's commitment to make the nation healthy. Vaccination efforts are part of Kalbe's contribution to the creation of herd immunity in the community. In addition to holding vaccinations, Kalbe also continues to innovate to provide drugs, supplements, telemedicine, and laboratory services related to COVID-19 therapeutic checks that are needed by the community.

 

Other than the Pekanbaru POM Center, the Pekanbaru City Second Dose Vaccination Center also involves PT Enseval Putera Megatrading and Enseval Medika Prima (subsidiaries of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk) as well as the KG FKD—which is a combination of KG units—Riau and West Sumatra as the organizing committee. .

 

The chairman of the Regional Communication Forum (FKD) KG Riau and West Sumatra Del Fadilah from the Kompas TV Pekanbaru Bureau, representing KG, stated, “Alhamdulillah. Praise be to Allah, today again Kompas Gramedia in collaboration with Kalbe and the Pekanbaru City Food and Drug Administration held a second vaccine for the community. There are 900 Coronavac vaccines that will be injected to residents who have received the first vaccine injection on September 7," said Del Fadilah at the Pekanbaru second-dose vaccination center.

 

"The Kalbe-KG vaccine center program with the motto Rise for Independence from COVID-19 is also participating in helping the program of the government of Pekanbaru City, Riau in accelerating community vaccination. We hope that the first vaccine participants who took their first vaccine at the Kalbe-KG vaccine center will come back to BPOM to do the second vaccine." He added.

 

This second-dose vaccination center was held as a continuation of the first vaccination activity which was held on 7 September 2021. On the occasion, Kalbe and the Kompas Humanitarian Fund Foundation (DKK) handed over social assistance to the surrounding community. Kalbe provides assistance in the form of nutritional products that are important for the community, such as Prenagen for pregnant women, Entrasol, and other vitamins. Whereas DKK distributed donations from Kompas readers in the form of 350 packages of basic ingredients each containing rice, cooking oil, granulated sugar, wheat flour, packaged sardines, as well as cloth and medical masks. The aid was symbolically handed over by the Governor of Riau Drs. H. Syamsuar, M.Si. accompanied by YDKK Disaster Response Coordinator Rendra Sanjaya to representatives of residents affected by the pandemic in Pekanbaru.

 

The COVID-19 vaccination centers in these 4 cities are part of the "Rise for Independence from COVID-19" program which was first launched on 17 August 2021 by opening COVID-19 vaccination centers for the community that specifically targeting pregnant women, in two locations, i.e. the Office of BKKBN and SMKN 26, East Jakarta. The activity was held in collaboration of Kalbe and KG with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), the Indonesian Obstetrics and Gynecology Association (POGI), and the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI), as well as in commemoration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the 55th Anniversary of Kalbe, and the 58th anniversary of Kompas Gramedia. The vaccination center and community social assistance are also part of the KG Media Sentra Peduli Kita Bangkit.
