Kalbe Does The Gotong Royong Vaccination:  Safe And More Productive Employees

Jakarta, 18 Mei 2021,  PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) today undertaken the 'Gotong Royong' (Mutual Cooperation) Vaccination for its employees and family members as support for the government program in the effort to accelerate the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic.   Today's vaccination event was witnessed virtually by Ir. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, along with 18 other companies.  Kalbe plans to vaccinate 16,000 employees and their family members throughout Indonesia, however, at this initial stage the company has only received 6,000 doses of vaccine, the equivalent to the use for 3,000 employees; on 18-25 May 2021 at RDC Enseval, East Jakarta. To implement the Gotong Royong vaccinations, Kalbe involved healthcare providers and officers from Kalbe's own line of employees as well as its subsidiaries, among which are from PT Milenia Dharma Insani (Mitrasarana Clinic) and KlikDokter.  

"In line with Kalbe's commitment to making the nation healthy and taking steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Kalbe today has started the implementation of the Gotong Royong vaccination program that is designated by the government to be utilized by private employees and families," said Vidjongtius, President Director of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk. "Through the Gotong Royong vaccination, we hope we can minimalize the spread of COVID-19 in order for our employees to be able to work more productively and feels safe and therefore able to continue to create healthcare products and services that will continue to improve for the entirety of Indonesian people," Vidjongtius continued. 

Vidjongtius also added that in spite of having been vaccinated, Kalbe's employees and their family must remain disciplined in maintaining the health protocol during their daily acitivities, because vaccination is not everything that would keep us safe from COVID-19.  

The recipients of the first batch of vaccines in the Kalbe Group are prioritized to those who do fieldwork, e.g. sales teams, marketing, outlets, distribution, and employees of factories locating in Jabodetabek area.   Whereas the employees and families listed by Kalbe Group are employees with legal husband or wife and children.  With the conditions of not having comorbidities, has not received government-issued vaccine, and is aged between 18-23 years old. 

President Joko Widodo in his virtual greetings for the 18 companies expressed his wish that the Gotong Royong vaccination program can speed up the vaccination targets in Indonesia.     The President hoped that by August or September the number of vaccinated public would reach approximately 70 million people.    Therefore the factories and industry can remain in production under normal circumstances and will be able to revive Indonesia's economy.
