Klikdokter Supports BKKBN in Launching the Klikkb Application

Press Release No. 031/KFCP-DIR/PR/VIII/20

Jakarta, 20 August 2020, PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) through its subsidiary, KlikDokter, is supporting the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) in launching the 'klikkb' application that will directly connect the acceptors of KB with midwives and allowing acceptors to receive interactive information, or counseling. The launch of klikkb is presented by dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG(K), Chief of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), Dr. Daeng M Faqih, SH., MH., Chairman of the Indonesian Doctors' Association (IDI); and Bonny Anom, Deputy CEO of KlikDokter, at the headquarters of BKKBN in Jakarta.

"Klikdokter is committed to providing health education for the people by constantly increasing knowledge and awareness of health values; such as Maternal Mortality Rate (AKI), Infant Mortality Rate (AKB), and Stunting; as well as increasing the cognition of Family Planning and Reproductive Health," said Bonny Anom, Deputy CEO of KlikDokter. "With the collaborative application klikkb, the public can utilize services such as live chat with providers, information of the location of family planning, reminder alarm both for provider or acceptor to obtain repeat contraceptive services," Bonny continued.

"We launch the klikkb application as one of the efforts to reach Eligible Couples (PUS) in order to be able to access information, acquiring contraceptive services, and maintaining participation. This is done due to the rapid increase in the percentage of unplanned pregnancies during the Covid-19 pandemic," said dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG(K), Chief of BKKBN. "The use of contraceptives has decreased drastically during the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the increase of unplanned pregnancies," dr. Hasto continued.

The application is hoped to be able to assist the Development of Family Population and Family Planning (Bangga Kencana) Program by knowing the needs of Eligible Couples of contraception methods and allowing it to become an input for the program's policies. The availability of contraceptive tools and drugs can be monitored to prevent a stock outage in health service facilities.

In the future, klikkb will be developed gradually through phases that have been determined and the number of health providers will be adjusted with the capacities in accordance with the phase.
At present health providers that are involved as providers of service are 2,000 midwives that are spread throughout Indonesia, and counselor midwives that are assigned to provide consultation through klikkb. Approximately 2,000 midwives are being prepared for assignments in Java and Bali areas. Socializations will also need to be conducted gradually, with the first phase is conducted in 7 provinces; the second phase will be conducted in 12 provinces, and the third will be conducted in 15 provinces.

With the availability of this application, it is expected that family planning services and Reproductive Health will become more accessible for the public, given that technological use at present has become an important thing in accommodating the changing times that are fast and dynamic, including in contraceptive services. It is hoped that with this application, the ultimate goal of forming a family that is safe, peaceful, and independent can be achieved through family planning.

Klikkb is launched by BKKBN in time to commemorate the International Contraceptive Day that will take place on September 26. World Contraceptive Day is a global campaign conducted annually worldwide with the vision that all pregnancies are planned pregnancies. The World Contraceptive Day was launched in 2017 with the mission to increase knowledge on contraceptives and provide information to the public to understand and able to make correct decisions on their reproductive health.
