Batam, July 26, 2019 - PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) through the Hydro Coco brand once again held the High School (HS) level National Futsal Tournament Hydro Coco Cup (Hydro Coco National Futsal Tournament/HCNFT). This is the seventh year of HCNFT that will involve 1,100 senior high schools from 31 cities with more than 170,000 players and supporters, an increase from the previous year's participants of 1,003 high schools from 28 cities. The HCNFT kick off was held at GOR Temenggung; opened by Edhi Prasetyo, Secretary General of the Indonesian Futsal Federation; Drs. Ali Chozin as Daily Chief of the Riau Islands Province BNN office; accompanied by Ronald Unadi, Head of Beverages of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk.
"The number of participants from year to year has been increasing, and we try to provide space for high school students to be making achievements and have a healthy life. This is in line with Kalbe's mission to contribute to a healthier Indonesia, one of which is through sports activities especially Futsal," said Ronald Unadi, Head of Beverages of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk. "The HCNFT activity is held with the acknowledgment of the Indonesian Futsal Federation, and received support from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) as a forum for education about the dangers of drugs, and is also supported by the Ministry of Tourism as one of the sports tourism events supporting the Wonderful Indonesia campaign," added Ronald.
"We appreciate the holding of the Hydro Coco Cup Futsal Tournament which has followed the competition rules imposed by the Indonesian Futsal Federation, the official body that houses Futsal sports' development activities in Indonesia," said Edhi Prasetyo, Secretary General of the Indonesian Futsal Federation. "It is hoped that this tournament can improve the knowledge and how to properly play futsal in accordance to the rules of the International Football Federation (FIFA); and since 2018 the Hydro Coco Cup has been officially designated as the U-18 program for the Indonesian Futsal Federation," continued Edhi.
"This is the fifth year that BNN has been involved in the Hydro Coco Cup tournament, we have a common vision with Kalbe which is to create a healthier Indonesian society, especially healthy living without drugs," said Drs. Ali Chozin, Daily Chief of the Riau Islands National Narcotics Agency. "On every occasion of the competition, BNN is actively socializing about the importance of healthy living without drugs. We invite the younger generation to take care and take an active role in preventing narcotics in the school environment to be safe and free from drug abuse and illicit trafficking," Ali continued.
"The implementation of the Hydro Coco Cup, which is spread across 31 cities in Indonesia, is one form of sporting events that can attract tourists, especially domestic tourists. The tournament, that is always in synergy with Wonderful Indonesia is expected to continue to develop to promote cities and bring Indonesia's name to the international scene," said Haryanto, Assistant Deputy of Marketing Development of the Ministry of Tourism. "Sport tourism can be an effective means of promoting tourism in various regions in Indonesia, with HCNFT expected to be an attraction for people to come to watch the matches and tour in every city they are being held," Haryanto added.
The tournament will take place from July to the Grand Final in November 2019. The futsal tournament that has a total prize of 320 million rupiah, will also compete for the championship team that will represent Indonesian high schools in participating the International futsal tournaments for secondary school levels in Thailand. The national best player will get a scholarship from Trisakti University.
Hydro Coco Cup will be held in 31 cities, divided into 31 Gold and Silver Qualifications. Silver Qualification will be held in 22 cities: Balikpapan, Banyuwangi, Bekasi, Bogor, Cirebon, Denpasar, Jember, Kediri, Lampung, Manado, Malang, Mataram, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Kudus, Purwokerto, Samarinda, Sukabumi, Tangerang, Tasik, and Tegal. While the Gold Qualifications will be held in 10 cities: Batam, Medan, Semarang, Bandung, Solo, Surabaya, Makassar, Banjarmasin and Jakarta
Other than support from the Indonesian Futsal Federation, the National Narcotics Agency and the Ministry of Tourism; the tournament is also supported by Trisakti University, Ortus Eight as official apparel and Bolalob as the official media partner for the 2019 Hydro Coco Cup.
In year 2013, the Hydro Coco Cup futsal tournament achieved the award as one of the Best Impactfull Activation for Youth from SWA magazine.
Hydro Coco at a glance
