Wajo Regencies, July 2, 2019 - PT Kalbe FarmaTbk (Kalbe) today through the Kalbe Consumer Health Division which produces non-prescription drugs (over the counter/OTC) provides assistance to flood victims in Wajo Regencies, South Sulawesi by conducting clean-up activities in public facilities, such as mosques, schools, and the neighborhood around the residents' homes. Furthermore, Kalbe also provides medicines, health education and conducts free medical examinations for disaster victims. The symbolization presentation of the medications was conducted by Abdul Hakim, Consumer Health DSPS Kalbe to Abkar, Bakke Orae's Head of Environment at Salomenraleng Village Health Center, Tempe District, Wajo Regency.
“Kalbe is very concerned about public health, especially the victims of the disaster, this is in line with Kalbe's commitment to improving health for a better life,” said Feni Herawati, Director of Kalbe Consumer Health.”Through this activity, we hope to be able to help the 1,965 families who are disaster victims who have started to experience many post-disaster diseases such as upper respiratory tract infections (ISPA), diarrhea, skin diseases, hypertension, dengue fever, typhoid fever, and leptospirosis,” continued Feni.
This medicine provision activity is coordinated through the local health post, while health education is carried out in conjunction with a free health check.The medical examination was supported by a team of health workers from the Health Medical Team in the Kelurahan and from the local Health Office.Here Kalbe prepares several types of medicines to be given to residents according to their respective health complaints.
“By providing medical assistance and health education, we hope that people will be more concerned about health and realize how important it is to maintain health and hygiene after a disaster. Lack of cleanliness and lack of clean water facilities have often caused disaster victims to fall prey to diseases, “said Abdul Hakim.
The free health education and medication activities are supported by Entrostop brand as an expert in diarrhea medicine, Kalpanax brand that helps overcome fungal itching, Fatigon to help maintain body health during disasters and Mixagrip to treat flu and cough.
