Kalbe and Grab Form a Strategic  Cooperation to Improve Health Services of Indonesian People

Jakarta, March 11 2019 - PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) today signed a memorandum of understanding with Grab Indonesia to improve joint services between Kalbe and Grab in the health sector. The Memorandum of Understanding that is signed by President Director of Kalbe, Vidjongtius and President of Grab Indonesia, Ridzki D. Kramadibrata; was witnessed by Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), Rudiantara.

"Kalbe as a company that cares about public health will continue to develop comprehensive health solutions (total healthcare solutions) including facilitating access to information and health services for the community," said Vidjongtius, President Director of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk. "This memorandum of understanding with Grab is a synergy of online and offline services that are being developed into a health ecosystem by Kalbe," he continued.

As is known, Kalbe is a health company that has quality health products ranging from prescription drugs, nutrients, over-the-counter medicines and other health products. In addition, Kalbe will also continue to develop digital-based health services, such as,, et cetera. That way, people's access for health service and information will become easier and more convenient.

On the other hand, this collaboration is in line with Grab's remarkable growth in Southeast Asia including Indonesia as everyday super app which offers ride-hailing services, delivery of food and goods, and digital payments to millions of people in Southeast Asia. As part of this collaboration, Grab will support Kalbe's operational activities through Grab's numerous products and O2O digital services to improve healthcare services to consumers, among which are:

  • GrabExpress will provide Kalbe product delivery services to consumers. Through GrabExpress consumers will get Kalbe products faster, safer and at a more affordable price.
  • GrabRewards will provide various promotional offers for Kalbe health products in the Grab application for Grab and Kalbe consumers in an effort to increase customer loyalty;
  • GrabAds will support Kalbe in conducting integrated campaigns through the Grab platform that enable them to achieve branding and marketing goals by targeting the right audience segment. Currently GrabAds is available in the form of Mobile Billboards, In-car Engagement and In-app Engagement;
  • GrabFresh is an alternative for consumers to get Kalbe's quality products in a more convenient way, by eliminating the hassle of going to supermarkets, getting stuck in traffic or waiting in long queues. Through GrabFresh, consumers can choose a wide selection of Kalbe's products easily through the Grab application;
  • Grab for Business will support the automation of Kalbe's operational activities to be more efficient starting with the use of Grab transportation services for Kalbe employees and document delivery.

Currently Kalbe has the health portal that can be downloaded on iOS and Android based application stores that have a live chat feature 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) for consultation with doctors, health information; including on medicines or illness; healthy lifestyle, pregnancy calendar, nutrition, and updated information about the world of health. Along with the development of digital technology today, this health consulting service has the potential to be jointly developed through Artificial Intelligence technology so that it can provide maximum service.
