KALBE & IDI LAUNCHES GO FIBRE CAMPAIGN HEALTHY LIFE WITH HIGH-FIBRE FRUITS

Jakarta, 28 May 2016 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk ("Kalbe) through its product Original Love Juice launches the GO FIBRE campaign as a form of call to Indonesian families to live a healthy lifestyle by consuming high-fibre fruits.  The campaign will be run in 28 cities in the form of Love-robic and family brisk walks with total target of 140 thousand participants, Go Fibre education through edutainment fruit machines at malls in Jabodetabek areas, digital activities, office-to-office campaigns, as well as campaigns at modern outlets.   

"Kalbe has always campaigning for healthy life to the people, among which is healthy life with fibres," said Ronald Unadi, Head of Marketing & Sales of Kalbe Beverages. "This campaign is also a form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity form between Kalbe and the Indonesian Physicians' Association (IDI) in the event of celebrating the 108th Indonesian Physicians’' Service Day." Ronald added.

"We welcome the collaboration with Kalbe due to its similarity with the mission of the Indonesian Physician Association in strengthening health services for Indonesian people.   The Indonesian Physicians' Association has been collaborating with PT.  Kalbe Farma in the fields of Health Innovation, Education, and Research. IDI and Kalbe have agreed to constantly support and success each other's health service programs," said Dr.  Ulul Albab, representing the Indonesian Physicians' Association (IDI).

"Kalbe has done numerous innovations for nutritional products, among which is Original Love Juice product, the juice product that has high fibres that is good for the health. The family is the perfect media to always remind of the importance of consumption of fruit for the entire family," said Ronald. "At the moment we collaborate with Hypermart of Bekasi & Bogor city to hold LOVEROBIC, health exercise activity as well as education for the family of the importance of the consumption of high-fibre fruit and vegetables." he explained.

According to Dr. Ulul Albab, fibres can bind fat, sugar, and cholesterol that is contained in food and expel it along with excrement.  Therefore, indirectly, fibres can maintain the blood glucose level and is therefore good for the veins and can delay absorption of fat and prevent hypo cholesterol which is generally good for the health of the heart.  "Fibre can even work as prebiotic which is good for the development of probiotic (good bacteria) in the digestive system.  With continuous fibre consumption, the Microsystems in the digestive system can be balanced and maintained and therefore all parts can function well.  Fibre can also regulate our weight." Said Ulul.

The Basic Health Research (Riskerdas) data of year 2013 that was conducted by the Ministry of Health state that Indonesian who consumed fruit & vegetables is only listed at 6.5%. The risky food consumption behaviour for people >10 years of age on fatty food reached 40.7%. Regardless that fruit & vegetables are sources of fibres that is truly needed by the human body.   

According to Nutritional Guidelines of BPOM RI 2013, human body is suggested to consume 25-30 grams of fibre per day to support the metabolism process.  However, it is not a secret that healthy life is closely related to healthy lifestyle and eating pattern.  City lifestyle that demands high mobility caused us to often live unhealthily, such as by consuming fast food and lack of fruit and vegetable consumption.  Regardless of fruit and vegetables being the sources of fibre, vitamins, and minerals that are required by the body on daily basis to guard its wellbeing.

Original Love Juice is a product from Kalbe that is a full fruit juice in packaging with higher fruit contents, and therefore is higher in fibre contents. Original Love Juice is process with Ultra High Temperature (UHT) technology, to maintain the nutrition and quality of product to be safe to be consumed in a certain timeline in spite the lack of preservatives. Furthermore, the fruit juice does not contain artificial colouring or sweetener and therefore is good for the health, as well as having obtained the halal certification from MUI.

Original Love Juice is available in 300 millilitre, 1 and 2 litre packages, and has six flavour variants: sour sop, pomegranates, oranges, guava, apple, and mangoes to provide its certain taste for the people in consuming fibre.
