Jakarta, 17 December 2014 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) with Center of Science and Technology Exhibits (PPIPTEK) today inaugurated the science and technology site supplied by Kalbe (Junior Innovation Area) for the youth of Indonesia. The inauguration of the science site is started with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Kalbe and PPIPTEK on the collaboration of visual- or scientific paper- based science. The inauguration and signing of MoU will be undertaken by Vidjongtius as the Director of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk with Ari Hendrarto Saleh, Msi., Director of PPIPTEK. The visual aids to be exhibited at this site are the result from the winning projects of Kalbe Junior Scientist Award (KJSA) 2014.
Through the science site that exhibits the projects of winners of KJSA 2014, Kalbe consistently works to introduce the world of science to the Indonesian people, particularly the children. "Through this initiative, we want to encourage our children to have the love and courage to create in science from early age," said Vidjongtius, Director of PT Kalbe Farma, Tbk.
Kalbe Junior Scientist Award (KJSA) is a national-level children science competition held as a form of Kalbe's care to the development of science in Indonesia. From its first commencement in 2011, the number of work submitted has been increasing by the year. KJSA 2014 received 718 science projects from 217 schools from 24 provinces all over Indonesia. The science categories are applied technology, science, and mathematics.
“The success of KJSA cannot be separated from the support of numerous shareholders, including Ministry of Research and Technology, particularly the Center of Science and Technology Exhibits (PPIPTEK), who had supplied full support in creating the interactive visual aids from the result of the projects of the 9 winners of KJSA 2014. The visual aids were presented in front of all guests of Kalbe Science Awards on 14 September 2014 and received highly encouraging response." said Pre Agusta, Chairman of the Committee of Kalbe Science Awards 2014 who is also PT Kalbe Farma Tbk's Director of SCM.
Through selection process, the visual aids of the best 9 science projects will be displayed at PPIPTEK, which came from 1. Eveline Maghfiryani A. from SD Islam Al-Azhar 29 BSB Semarang, with a display of Detector Prayer Mat; 2. . Seto Bayu Aji Langlang Jagad & Ridwan Kuasa Samudra Singajaya from SDN Kebon Pedes Bogor, with Modified Carrier Kit; 3. Magfira Wahyu Febrianty from SDN Jember Lor 01 Jember, My Cat Dine & Drink Tool; 4. Najiyah Nurul Faizah & Nur Alfia Rahmah from SD Insan Kamil Bogor, with Imitating Hand; 5. Farrel Hung from Robo Buddy Robotic School Bandung, with the exibit of Implementation of Friction and Pressure in the making of Pole-climbing Robot; 6. Edward Panji and David from SD Intan Permata Hati (IPH) Surabaya, with Herbal Helmet Lining; 7. Laurentia Holly & Chelsea Victoria from Kuntum Cemerlang School Bandung, with Magic Toothbrush with Brushing-movement Indicator; 8. Pebri Kristian Yafet and Minarti from SDN 09 Nanga Lungu Kapuas Hulu, with Automatic Pressure Generator for Seeder Stick; 9. Tomoji Hamay Kusuma and Dhafin Fadhlan Kamal from Kuntum Cemerlang School, Bandung with Toilet Flush Indicator.
Aside of Kalbe Junior Scientist Award, Kalbe also has the Ristek Kalbe Science Award (RKSA) directed for the senior researchers whose daily activities are in the research world. RKSA Program is held biennially and is supported by Research Agencies and Institutions under the coordination of the Ministry of Research and Technology. RKSA has the purpose to give appreciation to Indonesian researchers who are dedicated and worked hard to achieve a result of research in the health division. In RKSA, the research fields covers Drugs Ingredient/Availability (Biotechnology, Drugs Chemistry, Natural Resources Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Technology), Diagnostic, and Functional Methods for Food-as-Medication.
