PRESS RELEASE No. 047/KFCP-DIR/PR/VII/22
Jakarta, July 23rd, 2022 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe), through its subsidiary Kalbe Ethical Customer Care (KECC), has revealed accurate ways to protect the children regarding their health problems, in commemoration with the 2022 National Children’s Day.
One common disease that attacks the children is dysentry, with around 60% of children suffering from it. Another disease is hepatitis, as stated in the Ministry of Health Report of May 17th, 2022, where fourteen children, ages five to sixteen, were infected by accute forms of hepatitis.
“Influenza is another disease that commonly attacked the children, thoug we do not have the exact number of patients due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The rising graph of Covid-19 cases on children is also connected with the nutritional health problem in Indonesia,” said dr. Lucy Amelia, Sp.A, M.Kes., during the National Children’s Day celebration by Kalbe.
These various disease become one of the factors that prevents the children’s growth and possibly causse stunting. Therefore, we must protect their growth because the children are the future of this nation.
“In order to create a healthy, creative, and achiever future generation, mothers must monitor their children’s physical, motoric, and cognitive healths, as these three are influenced by their daily nutrient absorptions,” as dr. Lucy explained.
She then added, “Fulfilling their nutrient absorptions can prevent the children from any diseases that will affect their growth and development.”
Therefore, parents should monitor their children’s health through medical check ups, that could provide information about their nutritional status. Furthermore, parents must identify the signs of their children’s health disorders as early as possible in order to conduct immediate treatments based on their needs.
As dr. Lucy explained, “If children do not conduct early and routinely medical check ups, parents will not be able to detect any congenital diseases that they may have, or new diseases caused by viruses or bacterias entering their body.”
One small thing that can be implemented by parents is to check their children’s digestive health, which can be improved with the help of probiotics.
“Probiotics have an important role to improve the children’s growth by maintaining the balance of microbiotics inside their digestive system, which can maintain their digestive health well and will positively affect their immunity and growth,” according to the Brand Manager of Kalbe, Apt. Brigita Puspita, S.Farm.
“PT Kalbe Farma Tbk has Liprolac in two dosage forms, Liprolac baby drops with probiotics BB-12 and Liprolac Kids Sachet with five types of probiotics, prebiotics, and vitamins and vanilla flavor. These two forms do not have to be stored in the refrigerator, are certified by the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM), and are certified as halal as well,” as Brigita stated.
During the the National Children’s Day celebration, the KECC conducted a health talk with its theme “Children Proctected, Indonesia Move Forward” and sub-theme “Healthy, Creative, and Achiever Children”, along with the Children Medical Check Up, tests about their potentials, and face painting. All these events were conducted in Jakarta Aquarium Safari of Neo Soho Central Park Mall in West Jakarta.
