Kalbe’s participation in education development focuses on raising interest in life science education through regular programs such as science fairs and research competitions, as well as textbook and teaching tool distribution to improve the quality of Indonesian education.
Following are notable education development activities during 2017:
- Kalbe continues to consistently promote science to the community especially children through Kalbe Junior Scientist Award (KJSA) 2017 program. This program is participated by 1,103 works of science from 374 schools in 26 provinces. This activity was also attended by the Ministry of Education and Culture as a partner of Kalbe in the implementation of KJSA 2017.
- As part of the effort to promote science in Indonesia, Kalbe also organized workshops for science teachers in 3 major cities in Indonesia namely Medan, Palembang and Balikpapan, where 200 science teachers participated in this workshop.
- International seminar program DBSDLS (Dr.Boenjamin Setiawan Distinguished Lecture Series) 2017 is an annual program held since 2013. This program is intended to share the latest development of science in health technology as well as open opportunities for research cooperation for academicians, researchers, practitioners and regulators in Indonesia. The seminar was conducted in 4 universities in Indonesia, namely University of Indonesia, Gajah Mada University, Airlangga University and Atmajaya University Jakarta. As many as 1,700 participants attended the seminar.
