WOODS' Peppermint Antitussive
WOODS' Peppermint Antitussive is appropiate for treatment of nonproductive cough accompanied by allergy because it contains the combination of antitussive and antihistamine, Dextromethorphen HBr, and Diphenhydramine HCl. Dextromethorphen HBr as an antitussive works by reduce cough central and increase the treshold of cough simulation in the cental nervous system. Diphenhidramine HCl is an antihistamine as a competitive but reversible inhibitor of histamine at the H1 receptor sites. The dosage are 10 ml (two teaspoons) three times a day for adults or children over 12 years and 5 ml (a teaspoon) three times a day for children 6-12 years old.

Pharmacology
The effect of drug to the human body:
Dextromethorphan HBr as an antitussive works by reduced cough central and increase the threshold of cough stimulan in the central nervous system.
Diphenhidramine HCl is an ethanolamine class antihistamine that acts predominantly as a competitive but reversible inhibitor of histamine at the H1 receptor sites.
Indication
Nonproductive cough accompanied by allergy.
Contra Indication
Pregnancy, lactation, liver disease hypersensitive patients to one of its active materials, glaucoma, bronchial asthma, and respiratory failure patients.
Warning
· Special precautions should be taken to patients taking alcohol or tranquilizer.
· Do not drive or operate machine while using the medicine.
· It is not recommended for productive cough.
· If patients in drowsiness, debil, and hypoxia (lack of oxigen), conditions should be use in caution.
· This medicine should be used in cution for patients with hepatic disorders.
Adverse Reaction
Drowsiness, dizziness vomiting, and sedation.
Dosage
Adult and children over 12 years: two teaspoons (10 ml) three times a day.
Children 6-12 years old: one teaspoons (5 ml) three times a day
Presentation
Syrup 50 ml and 100 ml.
