Car-Q
Composition
Each film coated tablet contains :
Coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ-10)………………………………………………..………….30 mg
L-Carnitine fumarate………………………………………………………………..500 mg
Pharmacology
CoQ-10, also known as Ubiquinone is coenzyme essentially a vitamin or vitamin-like substance. CoQ-10 is the coenzyme for at least three mitochondrial enzymes as well as enzymes in other parts of the cell. Mitochondrial enzymes of the oxidative phosphorylation pathway are essential for the production of the high-energy phosphate, adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
L-Carnitine, an amino acid derivative, is found in nearly all cells of the body. L-Carnitine transports long-chain fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membranes in the mitochondria, where they are processed by beta-oxidation to produce biological energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
L-Carnitine fumarate is essential for transfer of fatty acids from cytoplasm into mitochondrial matrix, while CoQ-10’s role as an electron carrier, these two nutrients are working synergistically to produce energy for daily activities.
CoQ-10 and L-Carnitine fumarate also work as an antioxidant.
Indication
To protect the health of cardiovascular function and act as antioxidant.
Contra Indication
Car-Q is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitive to CoQ-10 and L-Carnitine fumarate
Adverse Reaction
Car-Q appears to be safe in the dosages generally prescribed clinically.
Mild gastrointestinal symptoms have been reported in those taking oral L-Carnitine, including transient nausea and vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
Dosage
3 x 1 film coated tablet a day
