Kaflam
Kaflam contains Diclofenac pottasium, a nonsteroid compound with pronounced
antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties.
Inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis, which has been demonstrated
experimentally, is regarded as having an important bearing on its mechanism
of action. Prostaglandin plays a major role in the causation of
inflammation, pain and fever.
Composition
Each sugar-coated tablet contains :
Diclofenac K 25 mg
Diclofenac K 50 mg
Indication
- Painful post-traumatic inflammatory states
- Post-op inflammation & pain
- As an adjuvant in severe painful inflammatory ENT infections
- Painful symptoms of the vertebral column & non-articular rheumatism
Contra Indication
Peptic ulcer
Warning
History of GI disease
Crohn’s disease
Impaired hepatic function
Elderly
Pregnancy & lactation
Adverse Reaction
GI disorders; headache; dizziness; vertigo; rash. Rarely, peptic ulcer; GI bleeding; hepatitis
Dosage
Adult : initially 100-150 mg daily. In milder cases : 75-100 mg daily
Children > 14 years : 75-100 mg daily. To be taken in 2-3 divided doses
