Plantacid Forte Suspension

Plantacid Forte Suspension

Plantacid Forte is very effective antacid and antiflatulent preparation.

Magnesium hydroxide is a very effective and fast-acting antacid, it neutralizes gastric

acid promptly and almost completely, and thus diminishes the destructive action of the acid rapidly and abolishes the proteolytic activity of pepsin almost completely. As a result, the epigastric pain due to the attack of gastric acid and pepsin is promptly relieved. This effect is sustained by the slow-acting antacid, aluminium hydroxide. In addition, the cathartic effect of magnesium hydroxide and the constipating effect of aluminium hydroxide can neutralize each other. Aluminium hydroxide is also an effective adsorbent and demulcent.

Simethicone, an antiflatulent agent, is a common ingredient in an antacid preparation.

It is included to defoam the gastric juice, in order to relieve functional gastric bloating

and flatulence.

Plantacid Forte should be taken instead of Plantacid(R) if a stronger antacid and

antiflatulent is required.

In severe cases, Plantacid Forte can be taken every 2 hours.
