Kalbe Launches Mixagrip "Explore Indonesia’s Culture"

Jakarta, 6 August 2017 – PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) through its Mixagrip brand is launching 'Mixagrip Explore Indonesia's Culture' held in conjunction with the Gowes Pesona Nusantara event that is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, and will hold approximately 5,000 participants. The event that is the continuation of the Mixagrip Love Healthy Culture will be held at 12 points in Indonesia. The launch of Mixagrip Explore Indonesian Culture in Jakarta was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Imam Nahrawi; and actress Laudya Cintya Bella as the brand ambassador of Mixagrip. 

At the launch, the BuGar Mixagrip aerobics is introduced at Pondok Pinang Field, Jakarta, and continued with the Gowes healthy cycling activity, and the distribution of flu and cough awareness masks to the people. The Explore Indonesian Culture Program will conclude in October 2017 at Toba Lake – Samosir. 

“Mixagrip Explore Indonesian Culture has the purpose of imploring Indonesian to increase the healthy lifestyle within the community, along with knowing and loving Indonesian traditional cultures," said Feni Herawati, Deputy Marketing Director of the Consumer Health Division of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk. “The Explore Culture Program will also be held in a number of other cities, such as Banjarmasin, Serang, Bekasi, Bogor, Depok, Bandung, Cirebon, Surabaya, Semarang and Yogyakarta and will involve more than 20,000 participants. In conjunction with the program, Kalbe asks the community, especially the younger generation, to participate in expressing their love of Indonesian culture through a photography competition with the theme of Indonesian Culture," Feni continued. 

At the same time, dr. Helmin Agustin, Medical Manager of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk mentioned that the general Indonesian population nowadays tend to be less active, which caused a decrease of immunity and turning people to be prone of illnesses including the influenza virus that would cause flu and coughing. "To train our upper respiratory muscles and immunity we require a routine of 150 minutes every week, in order to make our body fitter." Helmin said. 
 
"Given the general Indonesian's less-than-active behavior, Kalbe will also socialize the BuGar (Cultural Sports and Dance) exercise, which is an exercise with the purpose of strengthening the upper respiratory muscles that is combined with cultural dance movements that is taken to represent the big islands from Sabang to Merauke," Feni added.

At the same time, dr. 

The Bugar exercise that is introduced by Kalbe has excellent movements for the body. Aside of having high cultural meanings, the movements also train numerous chest and abdominal muscles as well as muscles from head to toe that will train our body to be fitter and have better immunity in the long run. 

According to Helmin, the general communities still need education on the prudent use of medicines, such as the habit of buying over-the-counter antibiotics to cure flu and cough, even though flu and cough originated from virus that cannot be cured by antibiotic-type medications. "One should not consume antibiotics for flu and cough, yet they should take correct flu and cough medicines. If persists, they should consult a physician immediately. Furthermore, flu and cough virus is easily contagious through air, thus use a masker when afflicted with flu and cough." said dr. Helmin

Acute Respiratory Infection is caused by virus or bacteria. The illness is started with fever along with one or more symptoms of: sore throat of difficulty in swallowing, dry or productive coughs. Period prevalence of and ARI is calculated within the past 1 month. Five provinces with the highest ARI prevalence are East Nusa Tenggara (41,7%), Papua (31,1%), Aceh (30%), West Nusa Tenggara (28,3%) and East Java (28,3%). In the Riskesdas of year 2007, NTT was also the province with highest prevalence of ARI
